The Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler course is designed for the operator who requires theoretical and practical instruction at basic level, in operating this equipment in an agricultural or construction site environment.

It is also applicable to those experienced operators who require refresher training.

Categories: With / without outriggers / 360° slew / Telescopic boom up to 9 meters / Over 9 meters.

Course content:

• Understand the risks involved in operating a Telescopic Handler

• Understand the legal requirements involved in lifting operations

• Identify the basic construction, purpose and function of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.

• How to carry out all pre-use and running checks.

• Operate and travel the equipment with and without loads over varying terrain, ensuring stability and control

• Set up and lift various loads within the full working range of the equipment • Place and retrieve loads accurately from various heights / lifting points.

• Place the truck in an out of service condition.

Duration: The duration of the course is between 1 – 5 days dependent on experience with a maximum training ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor. (See Training Info).

Venue: Can be carried out at our training school in Eastleigh or at an employer’s premises. (See training Info).

Assessment: At the end of the course students will undergo a formal written test on all theoretical subjects covered and a practical assessment on their basic skills.

Accreditation: NPORS or LETS certificate

Cost: Dependant on course duration and attendees.
