Roller
The Road Roller course is designed for the operator who requires theoretical and practical instruction at basic level, in operating a Road Roller in a construction environment.
It is also applicable to those experienced operators who require refresher training.

Course content:
• Understand the risks involved in operating a road roller and the measures required to control the risk.
• Understand the legal requirements involved in road roller operations
• Identify the basic construction, purpose and function of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.
• How to carry out all pre-use and running checks.
• Manoeuvring the roller over differing types of terrain ensuring stability and control
• Preparing an area for compaction
• Compact materials to given instructions including around obstacles, supported and unsupported edges, against radii.
• Place roller in an out of service condition.
Duration: The duration of the course is between 1 - 3 days dependent on experience with a maximum training ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor.
Venue: Can be carried out at our training school in Eastleigh or at an employer’s premises. (Subject to the type and capacity of equipment).
Assessment: At the end of the course students will undergo a formal written test on all theoretical subjects covered and a practical assessment on their basic skills.
Accreditation: NPORS or LETS certificate
Cost: Dependant on course duration and attendees.
