Manual Handling


The Manual handling course is designed for any worker who requires theoretical and practical instruction at basic level, in manually lifting and moving loads It is also applicable to those experienced personnel who require refresher training.


Course content:

• Understand the hazards involved in lifting and moving loads manually and controlling the risks.

• Understand the legal requirements involved in manual handling loads

• Basic physiology and an awareness of the potential injuries caused by poor manual handling

• The preparation and planning involved in manual handling operations

• The selection of manual handling equipment, its uses and PPE requirements

• The methods and techniques involved in manual handling

Duration: The duration of the course is ½ day with a maximum training ratio of 10 students to 1 instructor. (See Training Info).

Venue: Carried out at our training centre or an employer’s premises. (See training Info).

Assessment: At the end of the course students will undergo a formal written test on all theoretical subjects covered and a practical assessment on their basic skills.
