Excavator
The 360° Excavator course is designed for the operator who requires theoretical and practical instruction at basic level, in operating an excavator in a construction / industrial environment.
It is also applicable to those experienced operators who require refresher training.

Medium – up to 10 tonnes
Heavy – over 10 tonnes
Course content:
• Understand the risks involved in operating a 360 excavator and the measures required to control the risk.
• Understand the legal requirements involved in construction operations with an excavator
• Identify the basic construction, purpose and function of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.
• How to carry out all pre-use and running checks.
• Travel over differing types of terrain including rough undulating ground and substantial inclines ensuring stability and control.
• Set the equipment and excavate below ground level on a variety of excavations in different ground types.
• Place spoil into a vehicle / hopper
• Grade, spread and level different types of terrain
• Remove and re-attach buckets
• Place the dumper in an out of service condition.
Duration: The duration of the course is between 1 - 5 days dependent on experience with a maximum training ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor.
Venue: Can be carried out at our training school in Eastleigh or at an employer’s premises. (Over 10 tonne capacity must be done on clients site).
Assessment: At the end of the course students will undergo a formal written test on all theoretical subjects covered and a practical assessment on their basic skills.
Accreditation: NPORS or LETS certificate
Cost: Dependant on course duration and attendees.
